Crop Walk 2013

Students and families of St. John the Baptist School and St. Elizabeth Parish s as well as surrounding churches participated in the Crop Walk for hunger on Sunday, October 20th. Crop Walk hunger walks are organized around the world to end hunger at home and around the world. Originally CROP stood for "Christian Rural Overseas Program." The original idea was for mid-western crop farmers in the US to give grain to the recovering countries in post World War II Europe. Today the focus of CROP is now more about interfaith hunger awareness and fundraising around the world and within our own country. Today CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty. Twenty-five percent of the money collected stays in our own communities. The money collected from our town will go to the Indian Orchard Survival Center.
