Grade 3

My name is Louise Arthur and I joined the St. John's faculty in 2012.  Prior to that I spent 21 years teaching in Springfield, at the former Our Lady of Hope School, and most recently at St. Michael's Academy.   I am a graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School, and a summa cum laude graduate of Westfield State University, where I majored in elementary education with a minor in reading.  It was a privilege to have been selected for a Teacher's Excellence Award in 1998 from the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and for the Harold Grinspoon Award in 2010.

I am
a member of St. Cecilia's Parish, where I have been a lector for many years.  I have two grown sons,  a golden retriever whose name is Daisy, and our latest "family member," Dixie, an Australian shepherd rescue.   I reside in Wilbraham with my husband and enjoy reading, dance fitness, traveling, and boating.   Most of all, I enjoy working with my third-graders at St. John the Baptist!
